My midterm from "Printmedia Practices" taken at SAIC in Fall 2025. This course was taught by Jasper Goodrich.
I was unable to finish everything for the midterm in time, so my critique was done in two parts when I turned in the rest of my work during the following class session.
Critique notes (first half):
- Really drawn to the dry-point
- ^Fits my style, looks like out of a sketchbook
- Dr. Stone reduction, lighting is great, like it's shining through the paper
- traditionally signature is like this:
- (insert photo)
- Dry-point is really substantial
- "Dr. Stone print will really sell" - Jasper
- It was a mature decision to scrap the green pinup and move on
- The side profile reminds Jasper of the artist AMATO
- Be in the fanart world I'm in but really activate it and give the characters energy and personality
- Research and learn about the Chicago Imagists ← Jasper says each print student should become familar with this history

Critique notes (second half):
- Called my museum study "deluxe"
- Monotype was really good (Stanxeno Chibi)
- My work is best when there's interaction in it (the green swirl)
- Really like the pinup
- ^Like the clutter
- ^Can't tell what color he likes better
- I caught up really well
- He was happy to see me printing so often
- He's really really pleased
